Soho Gem is proud to support Jewelers for Children (JFC), a non-profit organization that provides funding for four children's charities - the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the National CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Association. Due to overwhelming support within the jewelry industry, JFC has provided nearly $18 million to these worthy organizations since 1999.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. It is the largest wish-granting charity in the world. Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation works to fund and conduct critical pediatric AIDS research that will lead to the prevention and treatment of HIV infection in infants and children. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, founded by Danny Thomas in 1961, is dedicated solely to the conquest of catastrophic diseases afflicting children. National CASA represents more than 70,000 local community volunteers who are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children.
Soho Gem raises funds for JFC through the sale of unique custom made jewelry. This beautiful rose pendant is designed by Irina Ferry exclusively for Soho Gem and JFC. Twenty percent of the proceeds from each item go directly to support children in need. "We believe strongly in this cause, and we are determined to raise as much money as we can for children in need," says Irina Ferry "Jewelry is a gift of love, and through our support of the Jewelers for Children, we hope to share some of that love with those who are less fortunate."
